About the Owner

Next Chance recovery homes are owned by an experienced recovery house operator, Lana Atamian. As a woman in long-term recovery, Lana has spent much of her career working with women struggling with substance use disorder. She opened her first recovery home Alderberry House in 2017, after working as a recovery house manager and as a recovery aid at several local treatment facilities. Since opening Alderberry House, she has opened two entry level recovery homes; The Farm House in Sandwich and The Pond House in East Falmouth, and another graduate recovery home, Next Level. She is passionate about her own recovery and is an advocate for all women in search of healing from alcoholism and drug abuse. She is also the mother of two young children, a homesteader, and a promoter of complimentary health and wellness methods such as meditation, nutrition, and music/art therapy to support addiction. Lana worked in the nonprofit sector for many years— first as the Community Impact Manager at the Herren Project, and then as the Executive Director at WellStrong, which both served individuals and families affected by substance abuse. She has a masters degree in Public Health from Umass, Amherst, and now uses her knowledge to teach sustainable living practices and healthy life skills in her recovery homes. Contact Lana by cell at 774-258-8573.

Alderberry House

Alderberry is a graduate house for women who have over 6 months of continued sobriety. If women are successful at Next Chance, they would have the opportunity to transition when the opportunity arrises. Alderberry house is a separate entity—and residents can come from ANY entry level recovery house in the Cape Cod area as long as they have maintained at least 6 months of sobriety, have a sponsor, are active in a home group, and feel confident living without the structure of an entry level home. Drug testing is still provided to ensure the continued safety of other residents, but limited house rules reflect the responsibilities of women much further along in their recovery.
