House Rules

Next Chance Recovery Homes follow the guidelines of a restrictive, but supportive sober environment. House policies include weekly randomized drug-testing, nightly curfews, restricted number of overnights, required completion of after-care plans upon leaving a facility, required weekly house meetings, and completion of house chores. Along with sobriety— the care, safety, and respect of other residents is of top priority. Homes offer personal support from the in-house manager and the owner/director. One-on-one meetings as well as daily reflection groups are a part of this home’s structure in addition to the encouragement of 12-step meetings and fellowship involvement. Weekly house meetings also work to incorporate additional therapies such as drawing, painting, cooking, meditation, acupuncture, and free-writing. This is to ensure residents are consistently practicing what they have learned, expanding their understanding of their disease, and gaining more tools they can use to combat their addiction once they leave the home. In the Sandwich location, residents who express interest in raising farm animals or gardening may participate in farm chores if they choose to. This is always optional.
